On the team bus from Bristol to Durham time can sometimes pass slowly the boys find themselves trying to pass the time playing cards watching movies and generally talking bollocks. On this particular occasion Return of theJedi was playing on the TV and we were playing a game of poker, Chris was winning as usual and jumping around like a little kid whenJabba the Hut caught my eye on screen. If you are a Star Wars fan you may be aware of Jabba’s little pet, who like Chris on this particular occasion was being particularly annoying, the boys insisted that this was now Chris and we had to fast forward the movie to find out the name of the little creature, as the credits rolled there was hilarity all round when Salacious Crumb came up and the name has stuck.

Crumb has always been a natural cricketer/rugby/football/golf, ah this is getting annoying basically you give him a game with a ball and he can do it. Always get in his team in warm ups and you will more often than not win and be able to gloat for the rest of the day.

Not many people make their debut at Lords and even fewer score a hundred on debut, Crumb did both and never really looked back. He has made himself into a quality cricketer who will always give his all in the battle. He leads the team songs with the same gusto and pride that he plays with, a benefit is a real testement to you and all the hard work that you have put in over the years.
